BEHIND THE SEAMS
Courtney Stiles entered the world of fashion at age 18 when she was accepted to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Her talent was first displayed in the Stephens College Annual Juried Fashion Show in 2006. Impressively, she continued to wow her audience with her innovative designs for the following three years up until 2009. Broadening her horizons, Courtney studied in France the summer of 2007 at the Paris American Academy. She participated in the Summer Couture Workshop program learning numerous couture and design techniques. Ms. Stiles continued to make her way into the fashion world by obtaining an internship for Bruce Oldfield in London, England the summer of 2008. There she assisted in developing various pieces of the Couture and RTW collections for the Fall of 2008. In addition, she helped design couture garments for the royal court at Ascot.After graduating in May 2009 from Stephens College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and Product Development, Courtney set off on her own. While making headway into the fashion world, she caught the attention of the fashion press. Courtney was invited to unveil her line, Stiles by Courtney Stiles, at St. Louis Fall Fashion Week 2009 as well as in Dallas at their annual FGI fashion show. She was also involved in various organizations and events in St. Louis as Designer for “Power of a Promise” fashion show event-St. Louis Susan G. Komen foundation: April 2010, as well as Designing for “Derby Day Gala, Celebrity Hat Design Contest” in the support for The American Diabetes Association: Spring 2010. At this time Courtney Stiles is living in New York City, where she continues to take the fashion industry by storm. She is available to design custom evening and wedding gowns as well as elegant cocktail dresses.
